Actual Size: 61 x 61 x 28mm (box only) Price starts from $962.- per pair (Transmitter and receiver units), basic +/-10V configuration, Multi-Mode.
When you need: To
transfer an analog signal from a noisy environment, To
isolate the signal from high voltage sources,
Eliminate ground loops, Transfer Analog signals Accurately
at high Signal/Noise Ratio, Have excellent
system reliability, The AFL-300 is the answer.
By
combining fiber optic technology with advanced proprietary hardware, A. A. Lab
Systems provides researchers and industry with the means to isolate a signal
from electrically hostile environment, transmit it over up to 1.6 km to the
data acquisition system, while conditioning the signal (over 50Km using Single Mode transceivers). This method eliminates
the addition of noises generated by electrical machinery, line noises, ground
loops and digital noise to your analog signals. The AFL-300 Analog Fiber Optic
Link is used for transferring Analog
Signals over a Fiber Optic Link. This product is also known as "Analog
Optical Link" or "Analog Fiber Link". The unit has optional interface to 4-20 mA (or 0-20mA) current loop signals. The input may be 4-20mA (or 0-20mA) from a sensor and the output may be 4-20mA to your controller (or 0-10V proportional to the current input).
The
AFL-300 consists of the following components: An
Analog Fiber Optic Transmitter - AFL-300/TX, An
Analog Fiber Optic Receiver - AFL-300/RX, Up
to 3 km of of Multi-mode glass fiber or 50 Km of Single-mode fiber (optional). Optical budget with Single Mode transceivers: 30 dB
The link is connected between the signal source at the transmitter (see Figure
1), and the signal output at the receiver.
Features Excellent signal isolation. Prevents
ground loops and computer noise effects on your Analog Signals. Transfers
analog signals to distances of up to 3 Km (50Km with Single Mode transceivers) Linearity:
better than +/-0.05%. Low
noise; S/N ratio: 86 dB. Input
signal: Up to ±10 Volt @ DC-5 KHz. Low
Offset Temperature Drift: Better than 100 ppm/deg.C Very small size: only
61 x 61 x 28 mm Low cost: $794.- per pair (Rx + Tx). Differential Option with 1-100 gain for low level signals and better noise immunity. 4-20 mA current loop interface (optional) . Can work under Ionizing radiation (Nuclear applications)
Advantages Low
noise transfer of analog or digital data , particularly beneficial in electrically
noisy environments and for transmission over long distance. For medical tests:
the patient is isolated from data acquisition system and from any other high voltage
source. Optional
instrumentation amplifier input stage provides a differential input, with an adjustable
gain of 10-500, for direct connection of any sensor such as: strain gage, piezo,
EEG & ECG, temperature, humidity, pressure, etc. Isolates delicate
test equipment from computer-generated noise and spikes: noises from computer
do not return into your system. Eliminates the formation
of "ground loops" (when two instruments are connected to separate power
lines or have a difference between their ground voltage potentials). Total protection of
signal processor's input stage from accidental sensor malfunction (e.g. short
to mains voltage or a lightning shock). Replaces bulky coaxial
cables with compact fiber optic cables - especially important when rewiring existing
ducts. Transfers
analog signals to distances of up to 1.6 km - with very high accuracy.

Ordering
Information The
AFL-300 is input single-ended, in 3 ranges:
±10 V (standard) or ±1 V or ±100 mV. Single
ended input (S) is standard. Differential input (D) may be ordered with input
range of ±10 V, ±1 V, ±100 mV, ±20 mV or adjustable
(A). A stabilized
power supply is also required for each side. It can supply power for up to 5 (optionally
10) receivers or transmitters. Supply can be modified to 24Vdc.
EXAMPLE: TRANSMITTER
/ RECEIVER PAIR: AFL-300
- 1V - 10V - S - R Where: 1
V = Input voltage range(10V is standard). 10
V = Output voltage range(standard). S = Single
Ended(D=Differential is optional). R
= Range in meter SM
= Single Mode Transceivers
Current loop (4-20mA or 0-20mA) interface is available. Please contact factory.
