PMC-3000 Measurement System

Introduction

The PMC-3000 is a measurement system, based on an analog data acquisition unit which is
external to the computer and contained in a shielded box.

Each analog unit includes:
A highly accurate and stable excitation for varying DC voltage levels for use in bridge type
transducers.
 A low-cost solution for Force/Task balance.
Menu driven PC software, LABVIEW interface.
Connect to any Force/Pressure/Low-level voltage sensor.
 Built-in Signal conditioner.
Up to 12 channels, Simultaneous sampling.
Three high-gain (up to 1000) instrumentation amplifiers.
 A low-pass
filter with a hardware selectable cut-off frequency, designed to cancel noise in
the signal being sampled.
Three fast A/D converters with simultaneous sample-and-hold providing a sampling rate of
40 kHz per channel.
The acquisition unit connects to a PC-compatible computer via a digital interface card.

The 3-channel isolated data acquisition system connects with up to three analog signal sources
which are amplified, conditioned and sampled.

  Semiconductor temperature sensors.
  Watchdog / alarm level detector.
  Computerized weighing system.

Software

The PMC-3000 menu-driven "GAGE" software is used for data acquisition and graphic display of the measured values. You can select any of the real-time display modes:
  Bar display,
  Time Window scope,
  Scrolling scope, or
Fast Courier Transform (FFT) of the input signals.

This software has many powerful functions, used for the analysis of data. It can save the data and export the sampled data files to most of the Spread sheet programs available to date. With this software, you can operate and calibrate any transducer - much easier than before.

Sampled measurements can be observed in real-time on user-defined scales. The displayed graph
can be frozen at any time for further observation and analysis.

Interface

The digital interface card provides eight TTL digital I/O channels to simultaneous Input/Output signals from/to external instruments (relays, switches, lights, D/A units, buzzers, etc.). This Interface card also includes six digital input channels which can read the state of external events.

The external cards are optically isolated from the computer by industry standard opto-couplers capable of isolating voltages of up to 1000V. Optical isolation protects the computer from a sensor shorted to high voltage, and insulates the system from noise generated by the computer. The measurement system is floating in respect to the ground.
